Plop a sub station down and fill it with solar pannels. More accumulators than needed helps safeguard from unexpected night spikes more solar than can be accumulated gets all wasted. I leave a space to walk between. Source this setup puts all 4 science packs on one belt making it easier to grab the science packs from the belt to the labs and looking pretty chaotic and cool.

The ideal ratio is 0 84 accumulators panel. So i felt like designing a solar layout because i d seen some talk about it recently. This so sums up factorio perfectionism and practicalism. I took to my sandbox editor and threw together a basic design checked it for ratios and found it a perfect 84 accumulators and 100 solar panels.

This layout has 170 accumulators and 196 panels. Just add as needed for each. I don t beleve in perfect ratios for solar. This layout is not made by me.

Overall this design has a continuous power rating excluding roboport drain of 8 232mw. The optimal ratio is 0 84 21 25 accumulators per solar panel and 23 8 solar panels per megawatt required by your factory this ratio accounts for solar panels needed to charge the accumulators this means that you need 1 428 mw of production of solar panels and 100mj of storage to provide 1 mw of power over one day night cycle. And slightly over the ratio instead of under is the way to go. Though in all honesty you probably aren t ready for solar panels yet if the cost bothers you.

Nice work though i know these things are not that easy to design this is the last one i came up with but it uses only 1 roboport.
